I saw the recent Madonna single cover contest and I immediately remember a conversation I had last year when I was shooting the promos for “The Love Rocker Project” with fashion photographer Michael Donovan. My dear friend, celebrity colorist Brad Johns and I were talking about my hair color change. For those of you who loved the blonde, Johns was the mastermind in taking me to that extreme. I remember the album and single cover of “True Blue” being the inspiration behind it. Super super silvery blonde with dark eyebrows. I kept joking the entire week saying, “Solomon Don’t Preach” as the stages of blonde began to appear.
With that said, it was only appropriate to use the single cover that inspired the photo. Thanks Madonna! And happy 30 years of dominating the game!
